More Self love

Wise words from Louise Hay below she found self love in her Fifties and as a result what an amazing legacy she has left behind.

“I love myself exactly as I am. I no longer wait to be perfect in order to love myself”- LOUISE HAY

You’ll never have good self-esteem if you have negative thoughts about yourself.

Self-esteem is merely feeling good about yourself, and when you do so, you develop confidence. Confidence then builds self-esteem—each step feeds upon the other. Once you get the rhythm going, you can accomplish almost anything.

Since self-esteem is what you think about yourself, you have the freedom to think anything you want. So why would you want to belittle yourself?

You were born extremely confident. You came into this world knowing how wonderful you are. You were so perfect when you were a tiny baby. You didn’t have to do anything—you were already perfect—and you acted as if you were aware of that. You knew you were the center of the Universe. You weren’t afraid to ask for what you wanted. You freely expressed your emotions. Your mother knew when you were angry; in fact, the entire neighborhood knew it. And when you were happy, your smile lit up the whole room. You were so full of love and confidence.

Little babies will die if they don’t get love. Once we’re older, we learn to live without love, but no baby will stand for that. Babies also love every inch of their bodies, even their own feces. They have no guilt, no shame, no comparisons. They know they’re unique and wonderful.

You were like that. Then somewhere during your childhood, your well-meaning parents passed on their own insecure feelings and taught you feelings of inadequacy and fear. At that point, you began to deny your own magnificence. These thoughts and feelings were never true, and they certainly aren’t true now.

Positive Affirmations for Self-Esteem

I am totally adequate for all situations.

I choose to feel good about myself. I am worthy of my own love.

I stand on my own two feet. I accept and use my own power.

It is safe for me to speak up for myself.

It does not matter what other people say or do. What matters is how I choose to react and what I choose to believe about myself.

I willingly release any need for struggle or suffering. I deserve all that is good.

Life supports me in every possible way.

I am wonderful, and I feel great. I am grateful for my life.

I have the self-esteem, power, and confidence to move forward in life with ease.

I am a radiant being, enjoying life to the fullest.

Whisper thoughts and feelings

Sharing the article below from Heartmath newsletter

We all have them – those subtle whisper thoughts that constantly stream through our awareness. Many come and go quickly, but if a downer thought snags our attention and emotion, look out. It can quickly take us on an energy-draining ride that’s triggered by stress from self-judgment, blame and anxiety. Learn how you can better manage these whispers.

Downer thoughts can crash the effectiveness of a whole day or longer, once they expand into anger, harsh judgments, or hurt feelings and guilt for feeling that way. Even constructive thought loops can become hyperactive at a time when our focus in the moment needs to be on sensitive projects or issues. These unintended distractions can often result in mistakes and re-do’s along with the anxiety and worry that this can trigger.

Renewing Heart Qualities Can Offset Stress

On the positive side, many of our whisper thoughts and feelings renew us and support our best. We can benefit by noticing the difference between uplifting thoughts and feelings and those that produce worry, anxiety and low self-security. Practicing mindful observation gives us the chance to consciously reset lower thoughts and feelings with regenerative ones, such as kindness, gratitude, compassion, helping others, etc. These renewing heart qualities have been shown to offset stress accumulation from thought loops and feelings that strain our ability to reason and make comfortable choices.

Here are a few obvious trigger points that can spark worry from stressing thought loops: criticisms of self and others; a growing list of critical daily “reminders” to attend; looping worries about safety, finances, health issues, relationship complexities, political uncertainty, and more. These are normal challenges in any time period but seem much more pressing in today’s emotional climate.

Most all of us experience some of these challenges while learning to create a balanced flow in our mental and emotional nature. We don’t have to judge ourselves for this. Balancing and re-programing our self-sabotaging thoughts and feelings is a normal growth process in learning to be responsibility for our energy. With practice, our thoughts and feelings come under our management rather than randomly invading our immediate focus and care on what we need to be doing.

Practice Replacing Worry and Fear with the attitude of Managed Concern

Many people are finding it helpful to practice shifting their feelings of worry and fear into the attitude of managed concern. Managed concern is an emotionally balanced state that connects us with a clearer assessment of situations and a more grounded reasoning capacity.

Worry and fear tend to overpower our access to effective choices and decisions. Ongoing worry especially dims our heart’s intuitive suggestions, which can be critical at times. Excessive worry is one of the stealthiest ways we sabotage our well-being, and then worry more because we can’t figure out what caused the problem. We can take charge of this once our heart’s commitment supports our mind’s intention.

Try practicing this: Try to identify worries that stir fear and anxiety, then experiment with shifting them into the attitude of managed concern (intelligent concern) – which brings clearer reasoning and solutions without the stress package. The attitude of experimenting is a lighter approach which results in less self-judgment of our performance.

Imagine a child coming to you with fear and anxiety because he can’t find his toy. You would probably coach him to calm down, get still, and let’s figure out the best way to handle this. What you did was help him shift his fear and anxiety into the calm attitude of managed concern. We can to do that for ourselves. It’s practical make-sense, coming straight from our heart’s intuitive intelligence.

Practice first with smaller issues to build confidence. Review the benefits of managed concern compared to the energy drain from excessive worry, etc. Reviewing this can add the power of practicality to your commitments. Soon it will become an automatic reflex to calm yourself into the attitude of managed concern when looping thoughts and feelings start to take over.

Practicing managed concern along with engaging in renewing heart qualities, such as gratitude, patience and kindness can be helpful for balancing our energy expenditures. We can be under pressure at times, but often life’s pressures awaken our innate power to take charge of how we feel and respond to situations. This available power resides within our heart’s natural intuitive intelligence. It’s up to each of us.

Theory of everything in quite stillness

Stephen Hawkins was asked the question do you struggle to keep up with conversations due to the fact it takes you time to reply he answered with his usual humour if I can not keep up I zone out and start to ponder questions about the universe.

This opens up the question would zoning out from the normal chatter around us allow us to ponder more about our lives and the world. We seem to be continually overloaded and over stimulated with very little reserve energy for creative thought. Maybe the eureka moments lie in the stillness and not in the chaos.

Many individuals struggle with being alone and especially alone with their own thoughts.

An article from the Journal Science claimed that people are unhappy in their own company and would rather prefer a painful experiences to their own thoughts.

Prof Timothy Wilson who led the research at the university of Virginia USA said ” Our study participants consistently demonstrated that they would rather have something to do than to have nothing other than their thoughts for even a fairly brief period of time. Which for this study was a period of 15 mins and a buzzer to elicit a small electric shock.

With increased reports of sleep patterns being disrupted and the quality of sleep being poor more and more people have shorter mental downtime. This has huge effect on our moods, relationships with others as well as physically consequences.

By becoming aware of the power of the quite we can top up our reserves of energy and tap into creativity and thus start to experience the world differently. Our phones run slow when lots of apps are open as well as draining the battery. This is similar to our minds with some thoughts whirring around finding that quite space between thoughts helps to close down some of these unwanted thoughts that deplete our energy and thus allows us to refocus.

Never underestimate the quite stillness for that’s where the answers really lie.

RIP Professor Stephen Hawkins and showing that a great mind transcends physical limitations.

Innate healing power.

Two reproductive cells fuse together and the process of creating a beautiful human is set into motion. All the know how for a complete human being is already innately encoded. The awe and wonder of this process is still unfolding to the scientific world.

If you cut your finger an orchestra of biochemical and physiological processes work seamlessly behind the scenes to stop the bleeding and thus heal the tissue. We trust this innate process without having to understand the chain of biochemical steps. Yet at other times we are less trusting of the innate power which resides within us, and we give our power to individuals external to us or to pharmaceutical companies.

Giving our bodies optimal environmental conditions will allow it to come back into natural balance ( homeostasis) and thus allow its self healing capacity to function.

Optimal environmental conditions which help your mind, body and soul back into balance are :

  • Good balanced nutrition
  • Hydration
  • Rest and relaxation.
  • Time in nature and fresh air
  • Time with family and friends
  • Exercise
  • Time for things you love to do
  • Restful sleep
  • Meditation practice
  • Self love
  • A belief in your own biology
  • Focusing on gratitude
  • Kind thoughts

This essential balance needs to be restored for optimal healing to occur. Other approaches are comparable to just putting on a plaster without addressing the principal causes. Conventional medicine may alleviate the symptoms but may also knockout other key biochemical system in the process. Which can ultimately manifest as another set of symptoms. A more whole balanced approach is needed to sustain health, vitality and longevity.

Love and nurture your bodies like the priceless items they are and the intelligence that created you will also support you in maintaining this amazing creation that is you.
