This famous song has been sung all over the world the words were written by John Newton in 1779. John Newton was a slave trader and profited well from it. During a return journeys back to Ireland his ship became involved in a violent storm endangering everyone on board. In desperation he called out to God for mercy this marked a spiritual turning point for him, the ship and everyone on board survived. John spent most of his later years as an anti slavery campaigner. His words have continued to resonate through this song.

This shows our paths are never set in stone no matter how many wrongs we have done in the past we can still find the right path and do the right thing.

Also we find ourselves crying for help when we have no other avenue but this help is always available to us 24/7. Send out prayers in the good times and well as in the hard times. Grace surrounds us constantly

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound.

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now am found.

Was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear.

And grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that grace appear.
