The media is constantly reminding us that there is an obesity
epidemic raging. Which sometimes leaves us feeling helpless and also feeling that it is an inevitable future outcome
Charlie Jabaley defied the statistics and took ownership of his health by clearly setting defined goals as well as visualising the future person he wanted to become.
Every cell in his body believed in the heathy, strong and athletic version he was creating. Charlie kept his internal faith and future vision vivid and clear despite many setbacks. Every lost pound was a step towards his new identity becoming a real reality.
Charlie set his future dreams on a big scale, as he always wanted to become an athlete and excel at sports. Charlie has achieved this and participated in marathons and long distance cycle races.
He really wanted to have fun with his future template creation, and even made an hypothetical advert in which he was already a Nike endorsed athlete. This is no longer a dream but an actual reality. Since he is now really sponsored by Nike. Dreams do in-fact come true!
The problem is that we often self limit ourselves and dream small. Instead of going into the field of possibilities and dreaming big. Everything is possible but our beliefs often tell us it is not so. We therefore do not take the time to create future realities without limits.
Charlie is a huge inspiration to so many, and on so many levels he did not let his weight lock him into a self limiting mindset. He opened his mind to what he could be and his body and actions soon matched this visualised image.
The mind creates the future templates and the body then out pictures these templates into materialised forms. We need to take ourselves off autopilot and start becoming active creators and participating in our lives. We only have one life and health is a priceless commodity. Life is supposed to be fun, enjoyed not endured.
So much power lies within us. By changing our thinking, feelings and beliefs we change our physiology and biochemistry. We can performance enhance just by optimising our thinking.
The modern world needs real celebrities such as Charlie who’s story empower others. Rather than just being bombarded with digitally manipulated images which fuel feeling down, feeling inadequate, not matching up and thus the whole comfort eating helplessness spiral.
Well done Nike for supporting a real individual who has made it to his goals without an expensive support team and trainers, in my eyes he is a real true sportsman. Charlie’s story needs to go into schools and universities to inspire the younger generations. So that at grass root levels the obesity crisis is no longer a growing future reality.
Dr Roger Bannister in 1954 broke the under four minute mile record. He lifted the bar for so many others to break through with ease in his footsteps. Our brains have mirror neurones which help us copy others traits and behaviours. Thus it would be wise to watch the best people in the field in which you would like to be successful. Creating new neural networks mimicking the person your watching.
Charlie’s trajectory inspires and motivates others to believe this reality is also possible for them and is therefore hugely powerful. The right mindset is needed to overcome the huddles rather than the fad diets and weight loss surgeries.
Charlie you already know that I am a huge fan off yours. I will continue to champion you since I feel we need more people like you who have overcome their present reality to create a new future reality by using both their body and mind.
Taking care of the inputs into our bodies sleep, food, hydration, breath, words, thoughts, desires and self love, the outputs inevitably take care of themselves. Small incremental changes pay huge dividends in the long run. So compound the dividends towards better heath and wellbeing.
Happy and healthy people empower and help others in positive ways.
So the net ripple effect is huge.
